After reading this article I think that Southwest Airlines handled the situation in the most professional manner possible. They supposedly apologized to Kevin Smith even though he claimed that he didn't. Who knows if he was lying or not. The article said that Southwest has had the lowest rate of customer complaints until Kevin Smiths situation. I think it is ridiculous that Kevin thought that he was kicked off the plane because of an airline employee disliking his movies. Why would anyone want to waste time taking a customer off the plane for that reason? He must have been a hazard to the flight since he is obese. I think the airlines responded the best they could to Kevin Smiths issue. They stated the "customer of size policy" and the dangers of having an overweight person on board next to someone who isn't overweight. It does not matter if Kevin Smith was able to "buckle the seatbelt" because if him being overweight causes discomfort to anyone sitting next to him then that is a problem. Southwest apologized and backed their company up with their passenger safety information on overweight customers. Kevin Smith will just be one less passenger flying Southwest Airlines from now on.

WORK WORK WORK!
Hey guys! Hope everyone's week is going well so far :) Yesterday was the worst day at work. I work at Love Culture in the Willowbrook mall. It's my first retail job and I hate it lol. My assistant manager put me in the fitting room which is the worst section ever. Time goes by SO SLOW its ridiculous, I worked 4-closing. I had no time to take a nap before work because I had classes from 8:30-2:15, soooooo exhausted. You would think that since it was a week day it wouldn't be so busy but towards the end of the night it was, three girls annoyed me so bad. They each tried on 7 clothes (which was the limit) and did any of them take what they tried on? NO, of course not ugh (I'm totally venting right now lol). I'm tired of this job hanging clothes and cleaning the store up, it gets old. I applied to Sephora so hopefully they hire me :) I'd rather work in a cosmetic store than a clothing store. I spend more money on makeup than I do on clothes haha :x. My dad is leaving for Las Vegas tomorrow :(. My parents are going through the process of buying a house over there so he has to take care of that and he works there too. I'm going to miss him! I'll see him over spring break though because two of my other friends and I are hittin' up Vegas March 13-17 woo! I want this week to be over already hopefully it'll go by faster :)

Response to CNN Twitter Article
Goodmorning all! :) I, myself am a big fan of Twitter. I use it for business purposes by following fashion and cosmetic companies. My favorite person to follow is well known make up artist, Kandee Johnson. I get her "Tweets" on my phone about new products she's giving reviews about or her new videos posted on YouTube. I feel that Twitter is a more convenient way to get updated on certain things you WANT to know about, such as new products/items that are coming out that interest you. I also follow some celebrities just for the hell of it. Perez Hilton is one of my favorites to follow, he's really entertaining lol. I think Twitter has dropped in numbers because it has become ridiculously mainstream in the past year and many of the users that tweet, tweet about the most unecessary information/gossip ever. This probably pushes people away from joining it, making it appear to be a waste of time and pointless to join. Twitter can really benefit people because there are some companies out there who let the public know that they are interested in hiring people for positions(hence why many companies have their own twitter or facebook accounts). No one may know that but it exists. I barely tweet about myself on twitter because I really have any followers haha. I just use it to follow people rather than have people follow me. Maybe one day if I become famous then i'll get a couple million followers ;) Till next time, adios!

Introduction Blog
Hey everyone! This is my first blog ever! My name is Karinna most of my friends and family call me Kara :) I'm a Junior at Montclair State University and plan on graduating Spring 2011. I am Public Relations concentration in the communication department. I created this blog not only for the Public Relations Writing class, but also for the purpose of letting certain thoughts and opinions out that I may have. I'm also big on just talking about random topics and things that go on in my life or in the media. In my blog I plan on talking about topics assigned in class, stuff that happens througout my week, anything related to PR and the media, and probably just random thoughts about something. I took Public Relations Writing because it is a required course for my major and I feel that it would benefit me in the future working as a PR specialist. This course will teach me how to write professionally and have a hands on experience with having an actual client for our future PR project. School mode is so not in session for me lol..hopefully I will get into the groove of things by next week :p..Till next time, goodnight!!
